Privacy Policy
How B5 Secure collects, uses, and safeguards personal data from website visitors, evaluators, and licensees — and the rights and choices available to you.
The binding notice is our Privacy Policy. This page explains how those commitments work in practice inside a deployment, for a reviewer who needs more than a notice provides. Where the two differ, the Privacy Policy governs.
1.Personal Data We Collect
Information you provide: name, business email, company, title, and message content when you request a trial or download, accept an agreement, contact us, or receive support. Acceptance records: when you accept an agreement online, we record your name, email, the agreement and version, a typed-signature confirmation, and a timestamp. Usage and device data: IP address, browser and device information, and pages viewed, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see the Cookies Policy). We do not intentionally collect special categories of personal data.
2.How We Use Personal Data
We use personal data to: respond to inquiries and provide trials, licenses, and support; administer and enforce our agreements and record acceptances; operate, secure, and improve the Site; send administrative and, where permitted, marketing communications (you may opt out at any time); and comply with legal obligations. Our legal bases under the GDPR include performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and securing our business, your consent (where required, such as for certain cookies or marketing), and compliance with legal obligations.
3.How We Share Personal Data
We share personal data with service providers who act on our behalf (for example, website hosting, analytics, email delivery, and the spreadsheet service that records agreement acceptances), bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations; with professional advisors; in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets; and where required by law or to protect rights and safety. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4.Customer Deployments
Where you deploy the B5 Secure software in your own environment, you are the controller of any personal data your application processes, and B5 Secure does not access or process that data through the software. In the limited circumstances where we do process personal data on your behalf (for example, certain support interactions), our Data Processing Addendum governs that processing.
5.International Transfers
We are based in the United States and may process personal data there and in other countries. Where we transfer personal data from the EEA, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and any required addenda.
6.Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing (we do not sell or share as those terms are defined). To exercise any right, contact privacy@b5secure.com; we will respond as required by law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
7.Data Retention and Security
We retain personal data for as long as needed for the purposes described, to comply with legal obligations, and to resolve disputes — for example, acceptance records are retained as evidence of agreement for the life of the relationship and a reasonable period thereafter. We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the risk.
8.Children; Changes; Contact
The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. We may update this Policy; changes are effective when posted, with the version date updated. Contact: privacy@b5secure.com; B5 SECURE LLC, PO Box 1410, Menlo Park, CA 94026-1410.
